A case should have 50 flattened tops and bottoms inside. The tops are marked with a “T” and the bottoms with a “B”. They also have the height in inches.
Tops will be white on the outside and brown on the inside when folded correctly. Bottoms are the opposite. They will be white on the inside and brown on the outside.
While flats may be glued, we recommend using a heavy-duty stapler instead. We typically use the same number of staples per corner as the inch height of the flat:
1.5” = 2 staples per corner
2” = 2 staples per corner
3” = 3 staples per corner
4” = 4 staples per corner
6” = 6 staples per corner
However, you may need more or less depending on the weight of your material. Flats are easier to open and close if you staple the short flap to the inside of the box rather than the outside. The crown of the staple should be on the outside of the flat and the bent legs inside.
Our fold up boxes are sold in bundles of 100 pieces or in full cases.
Customers should estimate the number of flats they intend to prepare, especially for our smaller sizes. Our fold ups are named after the number of boxes that fill a flat. While three bundles of 54’s (300 pieces) will only fill 5.56 flats, three bundles of 24’s (300 pieces) will make 12.5 instead.
A full case of fold up boxes fills 100 flats.
1: Fold up boxes have a matte and shiny side. Begin with the shiny side facedown.
2: Fold the left and right arms up and then in.
3: Create a wall by folding the shorter arm over your first folds.
4: Fold the longer arm over the other side and then across the bottom. This fold will hold the first wall fold in place. The outside ends up being shiny.
5: The fold up boxes are more easily inserted in a specific direction. Each box has a double fold on two sides. These double folded sides should be oriented horizontally inside the flat.
6: The only exception to this rule in the 12’s, which go vertically instead. If the smaller square boxes are too tight, try alternating a few of them in the center to make them all fit.
